Western Cape Fishing Report – Week 23
Storms hit the coast but freshwater delivers winter action
Big swells rolled in over the weekend as a cold front passed through. Most boats stayed docked. A few brave crews pushed out on Monday and landed small yellowfin near the Dumping Ground, especially around coordinates 34/35 and 18/23. Buffels Bay produced some chokka, but the rest of False Bay remained quiet.
Offshore Conditions
Thursday offers your best shot at getting offshore with light winds expected. Friday through Sunday looks rough with strong north-westerlies reaching up to 30 knots. Boats should stay in the harbour for safety.
Rock and Surf Forecast
Macassar looks promising for galjoen anglers. Saturday brings a classic Cape winter storm with rain and chill. Pack a flask, warm clothes, and waterproof gear. Fish the tide early for your best shot before the weather turns wild.
